Please call 604-829-1346, email admin@wonderoflearning.ca, or drop-by in person to register today! 1. Teaching Philosophy
We offer a Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum which is interest-based, child-led learning here at WOLO. Some private schools such as Urban Academy, Stratford Hall, and York House to name a few, also offer the same type of curriculum for good reason. The theory is that when children are learning something that they are interested in, they can learn well beyond their capacity. Or at least, what we think their capacity is. 2. Early Education We are an education centre in Vancouver that offers preparatory programs for preschool, kindergarten or private school. We value learning at a young age and believe that children learn more quickly during this time than at any other time in life. Research has shown the emotional, social and physical development of young children has a direct effect on the overall development and what kind of adult they will become. We believe that investing in early learning is so important to maximize their future well-being. 3. Flexibility At WOLO, we offer a flexible model of care for families. Some join us for the entire school year with the option of taking vacation breaks without having to pay for a spot they are not attending. For example, the conventional group child care or preschool system requires you to pay for your spot for the entire school year regardless of how many days you are away sick or on vacation. We on the other hand, offer flexibility for families so they are only paying for the days they attend. This model works well for travelling families, shift workers, the self-employed, families with nanny share, etc. 4. School of Arts Our School of Arts offers piano lessons, various musical instrument lessons which includes the ukulele, guitar, harp, and group music lessons such as piano, band and choir. We follow the Happy Keys program which is also a Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum. Students lead the direction of the curriculum while the teachers facilitate to their interests and needs. 5. Teachers ALL our teachers are either ECE or B.ED certified teachers who are trained in the Emergent curriculum. We have a background in early childhood education, kindergarten, and elementary school as well as psychology. 6. Space Our centre has been designed by renowned child care designer Ye Chu who has designed over 20 licensed childcare centres in the lower mainland. Our grand 32 feet high ceilings offer natural light and a feeling of openness. The natural grain cabinetry and flooring resembles the natural resources of Vancouver.

1. AMAZING TEACHERS All our teachers are highly sought after, educated and passionate about teaching. Our team can teach ALL AGES (yes, as young as 3 years old) and we only bring on the BEST! We select our teachers who match our WOLO philosophy of teaching. We are RCM trained and offer highly individualized and personalized learning. We LOVE teaching and working with children! 2. PARENT INVOLVEMENT & CONSULTATION Our School Of Arts director, Miss Donna is delighted to be there for parents. We specialize in education as we are certified teachers and we understand how important parent involvement is. This can be during or outside of class. Parents are encouraged to work together with their child's teacher to create a positive learning environment during class and at home. 3. REWARDS PROGRAM Our program is based on the merits of perseverance, confidence, and effort! We provide fun challenges for students and parents while working towards their goals. 4. SPECIALIZE IN BEGINNER'S PIANO LESSONS We specialize in beginner's piano lessons for all ages. We approach our programs with the understanding that at each developmental level, students retain information and learn differently. We look into our student's goals, motivations, beliefs and assist in discovering new sides of ourselves. 5. REGGIO INSPIRED PROGRAM How are our lessons Reggio inspired? We ask our students questions, we guide them by encouraging them to explore, discover, and create. If a child is interested in dinosaurs, we can find songs with dinosaurs, use dinosaur figurines to learn notes on the piano and off the piano, create a song about dinosaurs, use figurines as practice motivators and many more! 6. PERFORMANCES We believe recital performances should be a time to celebrate our successes and gather to build community and a fun experience for everyone! We host a potluck after our recitals as we see our students and families as part of the WOLO family. 7. WOLO EXPERIENCE & LESSONS The WOLO experience is about learning, growth and compassion. We value customer's feedback, our team's feedback and working together to create a better experience. Lessons for children at our centre is not only about dropping your child off to lessons. We strive to get to know our parents, building relationships with families and students and create community. Our lessons include following a curriculum but also off the staff activities, games and working on building our student's confidence. Each class may be different and exciting! 8. ONE-STOP-SHOP Not only can you take piano lessons, but you can also learn other instruments if piano is not your forte. Such as guitar, voice, harp, etc. Join us for a camp, yoga, dance and many other activities. We are a growing ONE-STOP-SHOP and we love creating new programs!
